Overview
AmiAmi is one of Japan's major hobby retailers for anime figures, character goods, model kits, cards, and related collectibles.
For overseas buyers, the important parts of an AmiAmi purchase are usually:
- exact release
- preorder timing
- pre-owned condition
- box size
- international shipping
Identify the exact release
Before comparing prices, confirm:
Two figures with the same character and scale can still be different releases.
- manufacturer
- character
- scale
- product number
- original release or rerelease
- standard or limited edition
- included bonus
Preorder timing affects shipping
Release dates can move. Follow the merchant release schedule and payment instructions separately from international carrier transit. JPS storage rules do not apply to a direct AmiAmi order.
- payment timing
- combination eligibility
- warehouse timing
- storage
Pre-owned condition has two layers
For collectors, evaluate:
Check for:
AmiAmi's pre-owned inventory can be excellent, but the exact condition still matters.
- the item itself
- the retail box
- missing parts
- repaired parts
- opened status
- box crushing
- bonus inclusion
- manuals or stands
Direct ordering and JPS support
Compare the shipping and payment options offered by AmiAmi for the exact order. The JPS URL tool does not open AmiAmi listings or submit an AmiAmi order.
Large boxes can dominate shipping cost
Scale figures often create large parcels.
Shipping should be planned around:
- retail box size
- protective packing
- dimensional weight
- carrier limits
- whether several boxes should be combined or split
